Calorex supports children’s swim school pool

A Calorex dehumidifier is maintaining ideal swimming conditions at a new swim school pool in Hull.

The Vaporex 55 wall mounted dehumidifier recirculates the air and physically removes moisture from it, alleviating the need to continuously reheat incoming air. Like all Calorex dehumidifiers, the unit converts energy taken out of the room as moisture (latent energy), to create ‘sensible energy’ that can be used to heat the room, accelerating the drying process.

The unit was chosen by Lincolnshire-based Grayfox Swimming Pools, which designed and installed the 6x3m indoor pool for Waterworld swim school. Waterworld owners Richard and Kathleen Gay wanted to provide much-needed swimming facilities for children in the area.

“Having used Calorex products in the past we were confident that the Vaporex unit would be the best option for this particular project,” said Nigel Gray, of Grayfox Pools.

“For aesthetic and space reasons, we decided the best option would be to place the dehumidifier in the plant room adjacent to the pool hall, so a through-the-wall adapted unit was selected with wall brackets and grills for the air ducts. A 5kw heater battery was also included, to heat the pool room from a supplementary boiler.”
